Engineering Services

Project Summary Report: EPC Activities of Egyptian Indian Polyester Company (EIPET)

Overview

The Egyptian Indian Polyester Company S.A.E. (EIPET) is a joint venture primarily involving Dhunseri Petrochem & Tea Limited from India (70% share), Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (23% share), and Engineering for Petroleum & Process Industries (7% share). The project focuses on producing bottle-grade PET resin at its site in the Industrial Development Area North-West of Suez, Ain Sokhna, Suez Governorate, Egypt. The plant occupies a land area of 141,000 square meters and operates as a private free zone.

EPC Activities

Engineering

Construction and Erection

The construction and erection phases saw several key milestones:
  1. June 2012: CP & SSP building ready for erection
  2. July 2012: Equipment erection started
  3. November 2011: Main plant building civil foundation laid
  4. December 2011: Structural erection of the main plant building began
  5. January 2012: SSP building structure erection started
  6. May 2012: Continued structural erection of the main plant building
  7. July 2012: Equipment erection initiated
  8. August 2013: Central Control Room and SSP Reactor erected

Commissioning

Commissioning involved the testing and validation of installed equipment and systems to ensure they met operational standards. Significant milestones included:
  • December 5, 2013: Mechanical completion of Line-1
  • January 10, 2014: Target startup date for Line-1
  • March 1, 2014: Target startup date for Line-2
